I am a novice also. In one of the four desktops press the top right of the screen and a cogged wheel flashes up.

Press the cogged wheel with finger and a toolbar will appear at the top of the screen.

Press the toolbar.

Press <Add shorcut> and a menu will appear with add shortcut.

Scroll down and choose your shortcut.

The chose shortcut will appear on screen. You can drag it to where you want (avoid touching the 'X') or to another desktop.

Then press <Done>
