Yes, it should work for most devices but it's not really something that N900 is doing.
Well, yes, I suppose so. So that type of functionality should already be present, then? Is USB supported for something other than a computer?

It's true, you wouldn't be able to view the file ON the N900, but you could still take a reencoded HD movie with you, say to travel or something.
