Well, I'd have to disagree with that last statement, from personal experience.

The XP box you plugged in to, did it have the Nokia suite installed? Also I'm wondering if any files are added to the N900 upon first connecting to a comp with a properly-installed set of USB2 drivers suited for the N900? Or is that too much of a stretch.

Anyway, my USB ports are ALL 2.0, and as I've said, I never had config problems in the past, been using the same ports since the day I got the PC and always ran full 2.0 speed except for the N900 without Nokia Suite.
