You can copy it to
Code:
/home/user/.mediabox/players.mapping
and edit it there. Any entries in ~/.mediabox/players.mapping override the original settings.

But if MediaBox detects Maemo5 correctly, then the GStreamer backend is the only one that gets loaded. If the main window has a close button on the top-right then MediaBox detected Maemo5. If not, then we have a bug to find and fix.
Theoretically the mplayer backend might work on Maemo5 but is untested and not loaded. The osso backend cannot be used on Maemo5 since there is no osso-media-server.
Thanx! So I moved the Players file and edited it. No matter what I assign as an MPEG player the results are the same. The file doesn't play. I changed the extension from mpg to mpeg, no change. Then I assigned random characters to the assignments and the files still play that were playing before. I never get any errors. I'm not sure it's using that player file.

Any suggestions? I did not reboot after changing the player file.

EDIT: My mistake, had the player file in the MyDocs/.mediabox dir.

Moved it, it's being read correctly now. But no love playing mpg. Seems strange. I enabled mplayer in the player file and it won't play, but mplayer playes the file from the command line. Seems like a mediabox issue
