Posted this on HoFo recently but thought some of you guys might be interested.
I visited speedtest.net on my N900 recently and got the following result:
For the record, I'm in Falls Church, VA - about 10 miles south west of Washington DC. I've noticed that the speeds only hold up within a few square miles of where I live, but within that range it's pretty consistent and I'm able to pull 4-5MB downloads/1MB uploads with ease. 7MB+ happens occasionally.
The irony is that my house is the last place I need such high-speeds since I have wifi access.
I tried testing it in a few other areas in Northern VA and the best I was able to pull down was around 3MB. For the most part I'm getting ~1MB in the area.
