Windows 7 has a firewall too so you should turn it off while you test. Then you can add your N900's ip as an exception.

Make sure to add prt forwarding for your N900's ip on port 22(port in the tutorial I linked yo to.

As for reseting/changing the password on OpenSSH - there should be a way via xterminal.
