Ovi maps 3 on symbian wasn't bad. I wouldn't say it's as good as my Tomtom but I'm not sure I'd have bought my Tomtom if I'd have had turn by turn already for free on ovimaps.

Maps on the N900 isn't all there IMO - hence my wanting the latest version for the N900. So yes quslity does matter but I think it's sufficient on symbian devices to make a difference.

My point about being a huge change is really about what people will now be expecting with phones out of the box. If you've never had turn by turn, always quite fancied it but hadn't been able to justify the cost - suddenly you can get it for next to free next time you upgrade your mobile. I'd imagine there's a fair few people who think like that. Hell - if Sygic thought there was enough of a market for an N900 only to port their software then the market must be there in abunance across all smart phones. And suddenly it's free.....
