i've uploaded your wanted IM layout with the avatars left-right a few posts above. so you don't have to use the original one.

edit: if anyone wants the IM layout with aligned bubbles you could try it by having a look at my sms mod css-file. it's nearly the same for all views. just the names are a bit different. ^^
(if it doesn't work for you i could take a look later too...)
