I am using DD-WRT v24-sp2 (09/24/09) vpn on a Buffalo WRT54G/GL/GS router which is running openvpn server. The router is set up so that I can, with my N810, log in to the router via wlan/lan or connect to my local network via openvpn.

So with such a set-up I can wake up a box on my local network (with WOL) via the router wake on lan settings (without using openvpn) or do it via openvpn.

It took some time to set my system up but it works like a charm.
