I've started a Brainstorm
here
to discuss ways of making use of the Google gelocation API to locate the position of the Maemo device. This method uses wifi access points to get a position and so can be used indoors and in built up city areas where there is no clear view of the sky.

The idea is to use this as a personal location tool, a method to locate lost or stolen devices or even to create location aware profiles.
I understand that he iphone and android devices have quite a few versions of this already, but I like my N900 and would rather stick with it.
Please vote and propose solutions to
this
