I have a Win7 64 desktop and a Win7 32 laptop. I followed the same instructions on both (to the letter) including re-boot and F8 to allow unsigned drivers.

The process "looked" to be working but on the Win7 64 machine but it never recognised the N900 when plugging the USB in.

So it did not cause any problems but just did not work
