Hmmm, I'm surprised no one is working on an S60 (or E71) emulator for Maemo. I have never used these phones, but from what folks are saying, it seems like they kinda had these features nailed down. So why re-invent that wheel?

My experience with voice-dialing was on Motorola and Sony-Ericsson, and it was very very bad. But on those phones, I was pretty adept at one-hand phone-book look-ups and dialing thanks to the physical keypad and the fact that they could only hold a tiny subset of my contact database anyway.

The N900 is a bulkier device, has a touch-screen (slippery) and enough memory to hold my entire contact database (over 3000 entries). One-hand operation is pretty awkward. So, I would definitely be interested in a hands-free solution such as voice-dialing, as long as it wasn't network-based.

I actually don't care who builds it, but if Nokia already has the code for an effective solution, then it be great if they could port it to the N900.
