I read this thread and I almost get a feeling that someone here feels you should only pay for a package if it is DRM protected and you can't get around it. That's like rewarding DRM.

On behalf of everyone here, I will put in that this feeling is of course totally unfounded. Noone here would ever install a .deb and skip following it's publishers requests for payment. :P If you install this and do not pay for it, it is not open source, it is piracy. Linux isn't about piracy, is it? Don't use a package unless you can agree with the license.

That aside, I think for someone to ask payment for something, it had better be their creative work and not copied from a tutorial, especially not in breach with that tutorials license. :B
