Yes, I can see why you want it your way. And I would agree that missing that way of operation does knock it down from "really good".
Yes, and there's a common sense solution to it - play the ringtone through the device speakers when music is not being played through the headphones, but play the ringtone through the headphones when music IS being played. A sensible enough solution that will work for virtually all people, instead the carriage gets to hear my ringtone and I get near silence through my noise cancelling headphones.

You'd think Nokia would have worked this out after all their years manufacturing phones yet they seem to be utter novices.
