Hi Millhouse, great to see you back and on top form too. The last time I recall you shooting from the hip like this was over two years ago when you saw the iPhone for the first time. Your friends had bought one over from USA, it wasn’t available in the UK at that point.
LOL you are still having to contend with the same claptrap now as then.
I check in here regularly and it is fascinating to see the same old same old. Three years later and nothing changes here but the world moves on.
Finally, I gave up on enduring the Nokia frustration and bought an iPhone 3GS in the summer.
Frankly I can’t find a phone that I would prefer to have and yes I have trialled the N900 in the London Nokia store. I switched it off when the salesman started pointing out features that were either not yet supported or were under developed and improvements promised to be coming soon.
That was way too much N800 déjà vu for me.
Re iPad, the screen size may a bit big for comfortable usage, but I won’t know until I get to hold one.
Bearing in mind that this will be handheld so it won’t be very far away from the face. My SmartQ7 7” screen is huge after the N800’s 4.3” but seems about right when held like a book .
I am not convinced that I want anything bigger, let alone heavier. I have dropped the Q7 a few times by holding in my left hand and underestimating the weight.
Will I buy one? After my iPhone experience then I am inclined to. My attitude now is that I just reluctantly accept Apple’s limitations and in return I get a phenomenal user experience. Comparatively speaking, that is.
