Another soultion is buying an external charger, just type "BL-5J charger" into ebay and you will see several results for external chargers that will give you the juice needed to recharge/reflash/etc some even come with those 3rd party batteries that arent the best thing in the world, but could be used in a pinch if your original dies...I have an external charger and it helped me out on my previous N900 I had to send back due to reboot issues.
