All right, to be proactive:

My carrier does not currently support either of the 3G frequencies used by the N900. I have not even received my N900, but will do so later today (coincidentally). What I have been doing for my N800 is using a pocket, battery powered router:

You just plug in a compatible 3G USB modem (mine is the ZTE MF626) and you use the router via WiFi. It is very fast. And it has the added bonus of allowing you to share your bandwidth with others if you want to.
