COFETEL auctioned the 1700Mhz frequency last November. As you may imagine, TELMEX wants it, which means, they will get it.

If you remember, the N900 works in that frequency for 3G. So, we are set as soon as TELMEX implements it. In the meantime, please refer to my previous post. That solution works right now.

As to GSM, we have it right now. The N900 is fully compatible with our local TelCel frequencies. It is just the 3G that has to be bridged in the manner I described.

Coincidentally, a friend of mine is on his way right now to visit me and deliver my N900. I will finally get it in less than an hour. Bought several accessories for it already.

I will be glad to keep you posted on any developments.

I have to say that I asked Nokia in Mexico and they are not going to sell this device here. So, your only bet is to acquire it elsewhere and import it.
