DISCLAIMER: Speculation, I have no inside knowledge of Ovi

I think the problem stems from the 'beta' label of Ovi for the N900. It's not beta by any development methodology I know of. It's closer to a tech demo, with the impression that a lot of things were apparently done manually just to have something out the door, and are probably not representative of real-life, yet to come Ovi QA procedures.

@nathaneous: take a look at extras. A lot of good stuff there, though a bit short in the games department.
