I think that I have complained ad naseum, Vitaly from MfE knows its an issue, and I will wait for the next firmware or two to see what happens. The N900 is on my desk, where I like to play with it, but can not use it daily. I agree with your position, and if my persistence in posting this problem pays off in the future with provisioning, I will be happy not just for myself, but many others who have posted here with similar issues. Perhaps I am the most vocal of them all, or most persistent (which some translate into spam)
