What did you use in Pidgin? I used:

Protocol: XMPP
Username : <user-name>
domain: chat.facebook.com
password: <password>
remember password: yes

Advanced:
require SSL/TLS: no
force old SSL: no
all plaintext... :no
connect port: 5222
connect server: chat.facebook.com

everything else is left as is...
i tried blanking file transfer proxies as well.

has anyone got it to work ?
