Things like Sixpair remind me why I still keep a linux netbook handy despite having virtual machines. Although I'm sure it'll work with the latter. I followed the first half of the Windows guide, then used Sixpair, then added "input" back into the disabled modules in my /etc/bluetooth/main.conf, stop/start bluetooth, and everything worked. Note: it didn't work with "input" missing. How do I turn off the controller when I'm done? Though!
