Hey @ all!
I have the N900 since December and everything was fine, I tried a lot, had the last firmware, etc.
The way to the problem:
So my next big deal was to combine the PS3 Controller with my N900. I installed the kernel thing with joystick support out of the devel-section and it hasn't worked for me and the cell phone shut down by itself after some time but everything worked. So I decided to reinstalled it and shut the phone down.
The problem itself:
I removed the battery and pushed the power button etc.
Every time I start the phone, there is the Nokia Screen after that I see a linux console with booting up everything (tux in the upper left corner) and before the screens come up withe the shaking hands by nokia it tells me: "E: videoep: xcb connect failed" 3 lines with. After that it wastes a few seconds and shuts down by itself. I can't even charge the phone I guess (because there is only a white LED and when I plug in the charger, the phone starts booting).
I know it was stupid but I need help. I have no further clue for this situation.
I tried to connect under Win7 oder Ubuntu but nothing was shown up at all. I read the flash Wiki (but I can't download the things? Is there a mirror?). By pressing "u" nothing happens.
What would be lovely:
Maybe to backup my things especially contacts and sms. I guess there is no way, but maybe someone of you got work around for me?
And I would like to get my N900 back working without going to a CarePoint.
Thanks for reading and hopefully someone can help me out?! =(
Update:
Under Win7 I get a short notice now, that it a Nokia Flash Device afterwards it displays Unknown Device and the phone reboots. Maybe I can now access it but I need the software which is down =(
