I agree that RPM's spec files are (or can be) slightly easier to create then .deb files. And that's where most of the good things stop...

I trully hate the Fedora base, I never liked the way Red Hat (or any alike distro) structures there distribution.

Also I think the internal format of .deb is far easier to work with then RPM's.

And yes I'm a long time Debian + *BSD user and I've grown attached to there way of doing things. But this was also the reason why I loved Maemo that much.
