Also... Alba refers to the country of Scotland in the Scots Gaelic, Welsh and Irish Gaelic languages.
Scots Gaelic is pronounced Ga-lick unlike Irish Gaelic which is pronounced Gay-lick - both languages are related but sufficiently distinct that they shouldn't be confused with each other and their English names are pronounced differently in accordance with the phonetic spellings of their respective languages, Scottish Gaelic (Gàidhlig) and Irish Gaelic (Gaeilge).
BBC Alba is the BBC TV & Radio service in Scotland for (Scots) Gaelic speakers.
