I am optimistic that the move to MeeGo will be positive for all of us. The technical differences (e.g. deb/rpm), will be overcome in time. It seems that we do have a huge head-start on the community side (includes developers, users, etc). I think our next Council has their work cut out for them on this front. They will have to be aggressive enough to cement our place in the MeeGo world. I can think of a few individuals here on maemo.org that have the necessary skills to do so, by way of their previous leadership demonstration. I hope they step up to bat.

Yesterday, I felt a bit like an orphaned child. But as Maemo moves into mainstream devices, now in the form of MeeGo - I think the analogy is more like a child moving to adult-hood. We as a community have to find our way. Pretty sure we can do that, with the right leadership.
