i also too have heard that if pads are damaged that cause the port to pop out, nokia wont acknowledge warranty (as i posted earlier).

if the soldering part is the other problem, why does it only have an issue with the n900? I dont get it, i have devices with the same microUSB port but no problems were issued. what kind of soldering iron or....however you call that is used in other devices which give the exception on n900?

I dont really know about the pads do, but what i know is when pads are damaged, there is a problem connecting the charger or cable even if the microUSB port is still attached.
