I agree that duplicate applications should become optional installs - device memory is a precious fixed commodity and should not be filled with applications users don't want, particularly unwanted applications that perform the same function. Anyone who is a fan of Gizmo will find they now have THREE VoIP apps installed on their device once Skype becomes available.

Hopefully though the duplication of VoIP functionality will prove to be a one-off and other applications from third parties will cater to unique areas of functionality.
