Hi,
I don't know if anyone is going to be able to help on this. Like other posters, I cannot connect to gmail: "Unable to connect to imap.gmail.com. Server name or port number may be incorrect."
This is a brand new N900, which I have updated to latest software (2.2009.51-1.203.2). Problem was there before and after updating.
I have tried using the Wizard, and I have tried Ipaddikt's instructions. Both give the same results. I have meticulously checked all the details, and done this many many times now.
I do not have a (valid) SIM in my phone because it's not being activated until Tuesday, but I am able to connect to the internet via wi-fi with no problems - browser works fine. I don't see any reason this shouldn't work over wi-fi..?
I have IMAP enabled in Google. Also Yahoo (POP) email fails in the same way on the N900. I suspect it's not a problem with the email settings, but a problem with the way it's trying to connect, or something like that.
Can anyone help please?
Thanks!
-Mark
