After a couple of fMMS-free weeks, I downloaded and tested version 0.5.0 now.

I had a couple of issues I couldn't reproduce (message sent on N900 but never received on other end, fMMS freezing while re-sizing image) and will investigate, but there's one thing I noticed immediately: contact handling.

I have three contacts in my contact database that share the same name. Two of them are actually the same person (=me), but I split the entry so that I could send VCards to business contacts without giving away my private details and vice versa. The third one is my father; our first name is the same.

What happens in fMMS?

The main view, the list of all contacts, always shows the picture of my father for MMS messages that I sent to myself from my main phone or from the N900 to my main phone. (I don't use the N900 as a phone normally.) It seems the lookup is done by name rather than by number.

Even worse, when I send a message and select entries from the address book, only one of the three entries shows up. (Interesting: This time it's not my father, it's the entry that holds my private contact details.) This means that I can send an MMS to my own private phone, but not to my father and not to my business phone. (Unless I manually type in the number - but I like to use the address book.)

I don't know if the logic is new to v0.5 or if it was there before and simply not that obvious (photo), but it certainly is unusual.
