I've been there and I don't think we can contribute or change much with good arguments.
They have their fixed agenda and they are paid to work on it.

Open-source is driven by the needs of its developers or contributors, not by commercial interests or by what marketing believes the customers would need.

We build something that works the way we want and we don't need to ask or wait for other people to implement it for us. If MeeGo is really open-source, then both projects can happily coexist, while we integrate their work into our project.
More choice is good.
