Well, I attempted to work around this requirement by firing up my old n810 and copying the libraries to my n900, and while it did indeed start up, and appeared to successfully connect to my HAVA (I was getting bitrate reports in the window title as per normal use), the video area only ever showed the "Buffering..." text and there was no audio. Remote control works just fine... but no audio or video. Very very strange. And extremely frustrating!

However, this does allow me to sort of use the HAVA. It doesn't work from remote spots, but with KMPlayer (using the osso-media-server backend and with Extra Codecs installed, altho I don't know if that last is necessary), I can point to rtsp://[Hava IP address] and get the video stream. And if I want to change channels, I stop, connect with the HAVA player, and use the remote on it, then disconnect and reconnect with KMPlayer. Very ugly, and I can't seem to do sufficient port forwarding to get it to work outside of the LAN... but it sort of functions.
