Just an update on how its going so far
I saw lot of posts about the N900 being more open but once you jailbreak the iphone, it opens up a whole lot more. Obviously this is not a proper solution since Apple is against it and theres always the worry of it being "unjailbroken" again (with apple updates etc.)
one thing I didnt like about the browser is that if you're on a page and go back to the home screen (or another app), and then go back to the browser, it refreshes the page. There are some pages where there is a countdown timer so once you refresh it, you have to wait all over again. But I think that can be solved with the "proswitcher" app. Thanks for the tip by the way, ill try that out.
I guess I was wrong about the backgrounder app, its not a real appswitcher, it pauses the app. But the proswitcher looks nice, ill see how that goes.
Another thing is that the "settings" seems to hold the settings for all the apps you have. For example, if you wanted to change the EQ in the music player, you have to go to the settings and change it. And if you wanted to add en email account, you go to the settings. It would be a lot more simple and easier if we could do everything in the apps themselves. (Like how it is on pretty much every other smartphone out there)
The battery life is also not as good as people may think. It lasted me only a few hours longer than the N900, its still something that you would have to charge every night (which isnt a problem for me, but for many it is. But I bought the phone used so I ordered a new battery so im gonan try that out and see if it makes a difference.
I also miss that little status bar thing on the n900 that brings up the quick menu. Even though theres an app for it on the iphone, it doesnt seem as good as the N900 has it.
And like jpbl said, apples speakers sound cheap, but then again, Nokia always has the best speakers so anything will sound cheap against them.
Lastly, ive installed about 40 or 50 apps so far and still no lag. I dont get any "no memory" messages either. I never understood what that was all about anyways, do apple developers automatically optify their apps? Does iphone even need any optifying? Why dont the N900 developers optify their apps from the beginning...
