Ok good news Maybe I should write it somewhere because you're not the first and won't be the last.

That's quite normal. While connecting to WLAN, you receive Broadcast and ARP packets (ie "are you still there"). I said quite normal because if it's a lot of data (more than 1KB/min) that's due to other causes like applications. What the amount of the bytes receveid between 2 checks ?
