here's what i did:

partition 800mb for fat, 1.2gb for linux on my 2gb kingston

do all the neccessary things to get dual boot working

plug my tablet into my ubuntu box, mount 1.2gb ext2 partition, untar/bzip kde onto the 1.2gb partition from my linux machine.

boot to second partition, start kde, woohoo
