You need to install the debian package once it's downloaded. There is a thread on it but if you have the new firmware then double click on the package from file manager to install it. If not then you need to open a terminal window, use root to gain elevated privileges and then use
dpkg -1 filename
where 'filename' is the filename of the package you downloaded including the path.
