On the memory card - i wasnt trying to back up anything on the N900... i was trying to restore the "memory card" backup i created on my 6233 onto my N900... this is where Nokia Data Suite says there isnt one (memory card) in the phone to carry out the restore?

The simpleist way is as you suggested..

Or just remove the microSD from the phone and put into a usb card reader.. copy all waht i need this way, then place microsd back in the phone..

I'll try your way seems the most obvious!
