But that is the whole point of using linux, isn't it? Having your development work done by volunteers.

BTW, everybody seems to have overlook a very important remark in the blog: the N900 is selling well. Very well, even: faster than Nokia can build them. So all your complains about feeling abandoned are futile. What counts is that Nokia abandoned every implementation of their tablets: the 770, the N800, the N810 and now the N900 (by "abandoned" I mean that they did not provide an upgrade path and/or broke some compatibility so that existing applications needed to be adapted), but they still sell them faster than they can build them. Why would they change their strategy?
