try removing the battery, plugging into a computer via USB, wait for display to light up, put battery back in...
This sounds like the firnware problem that was sort of fixed in PR1.1 / 2.2009.51.. I bet your device is running PR1.1 or 1.2009.42

If that battery trick works (or alternatively, try enabling R&D mode using flasher) you need to update your firmware asap
