I've added a newer deb that should fix the password problems for some users.
check the first post on this thread for the deb package:

and about adding an interface for the script over the camera GUI, I'm not sure I'll succeed in that, maybe a more experienced coder could help with it

It installs to the /usr/share/ folder, if making it install to the /opt/ folder would make things better I might do that, is that what you mean ?
