I wonder if there should be an acceptable (self imposed) limit to forum backlash against posts that are against the popular opinions of this forum

I find it rather silly to find the amount of defensive posts to outnumber the original offending (?) post and seems to provoke or prolong the negativity without actually addressing the issue.
