Generally, I hate the fact that it feels so unfinished. It does some fantastically cool things - my personal favourite at the moment is using Joikuspot as a personal wifi router - but then does some fairly basic things badly.
  • The mail client is geologically slow when accessing Gmail. This cannot be an inherent problem with Gmail, my iPod Touch does a much better job.
  • It doesn't show me if I've got new SMS or email directly. I know there's the conversation widget, but why not a little number as part of the SMS and Email icons. I just need a nudge to open the app.
  • The phone 'app'. It's pretty clunky. I'm getting used to it, but a Nokia 1100 would be far easier to use.... surely these top end models should do the simple stuff as well as the basic models?
  • Portrait mode - more support please (and the way the phone sometimes gets stuck in portrait mode while displaying as if in landscape mode is a bug that needs to be fixed)
  • The onscreen keyboard is quite good - but could we see what's happening in the app rather than in a little box in the corner?
  • Media player controls - the buttons on the side of the unit should continue to work even if the screen is off. On my Sony Ericssons, the volume control worked and you could skip tracks by holding down the volume buttons for a second or so
  • As with so many Nokias, it's not intuitive in the way the iPhone often is. You CAN do some interesting stuff, but finding it can be a total pain sometimes.
  • On the move, it's nice to have an app or a mobile version of a website, but sometimes because the phone says 'hey, I'm a fully fledged web browser', sites take me to the full version. That's not really Nokia's fault, however.
  • Give me system-wide search facilities.

I think in the long run this is going to be a good, innovative product. The FM transmitter, stand, Skype integration and the ability to use it to provide internet access to my laptop are just great. Just iron out the little faults and make it a bit more user friendly.
