You could probably contact the developer(s) and tell them you're willing to provide GUI work.

If you prefer being contacted, you could ask a moderator to sticky this.

If you need a suggestion, personally, I think Pidgin needs some GUI re-vamping.

(Oh, and try not to create duplicate threads (referring to the one in your signature)).
Bumping the original thread would be better.
