Open one app on the iPhone and one on the n900. It's still clearly smoother on the iPhone. Open up 10 apps on the n900. Does the scrolling get worse? No. Then I don't think software is much of an issue when it comes to scrolling. And if it is, then I think we have proven once again that everything about the iPhone is what makes scrolling so nice.
