I recently purchased my 770 (through woot), and have been very happy with it so far. I wen through the steps of having it boot off a 2GB MMC card today using this howto:
http://maemo.org/community/wiki/howt...from_mmc_card/
Near the end, after running this command "/tar-temp/bin/tar cf - -C /floppy . | /tar-temp/bin/tar xvf - -C /opt" xtem just closed and it kicked me back to the desktop. Hoping the transfer finished properly, I reopened xterm and ran "chroot /mnt/initfs cal-tool --set-root-device ask:mmc2"
The problem now, is that the boot menu defaults to mmc2, but that fails to boot. However when I select just mmc, it boots and appears to work properly. I'm not sure what was supposed to happen, and I don't want to continue using the device if I am going to have to retransfer everything over to the mmc.
Should I be worried that it wont boot from mmc2, and is there a way to check that the transfer completed properly?
