I came to the N900 from the Pharos 137. I got the 137 because I thought that a top-line company for GPS devices would make a kick-a** phone with GPS capability. I switched from a long association with Nextel (then switch to Sprint who dropped the Nextel ball) to T-Mobile for the 137. The Pharos 137 was a GOOD (not great) device when I got it. Then with each update there were problems. Finally, in October of last year, there was an update to the 137 which farkled my ear piece speaker. If I was on a call, I could not hear what was said. It sounded like the speaker was WAY over-driven. If I used bluetooth, it was ok. Otherwise, it was second guessing everything someone said. I posted on the Pharos website and was told "This is a known issue". I still have the 137, but bought the N900 as a replacement. The N900 is still rough in some ways, but give it freakin time. From recent history from a different phone, don't demand an update is issued before it is stable. I did that for months before I said F**k and spent $500 on a different phone. Pharos released a windows mobile 6.5.2 a week or so ago, and was supposed to release a 6.5.3 today. Ihaven't tried it, don't know if it's better. The minute Nokia releases an update that causes more problems than it fixes is the minute Nokia get's even more S**t thrwn against it than it is for not saying when something will be released. Sorry for the long post.
