I finally bought the KBC-L2S charger. As expected it only charges when using the following USB cable: Rocketfish Mobile USB Charging Cable I confirm and repeat what I have read elsewhere: I need to first plug in the cable to the charger and after that into the phone. The other way it will not charge.
