I think I understand the principle of injecting power into the USB line for the client device, but the schematic I posted is from a thread here on itT, and conflicts with the thoughtfix's schematic, which I've already seen while reading his blog. "TF" says the 770 needs power, another thread on here with the schematic above seems to say the 770 doesn't need power on its host end of the cable. Which is correct?

Can anyone comment on my specific ideas? They are narrow in scope to fit my scenario and needs. and want to know if ya'all think they'll work.
