I wouldn't worry too much about those comments. Personally, I'm a little offended that they think they know who the app is obviously targeted at. It' s extremely sexist on their part to assume who "obviously" has a use for this app .

As RevdKathy pointed out, she was well aware of her cycle (as were most of the women I know/knew when this topic came up).

I thought it'd be nice to use so I know whether my wife is likely to be in the mood or bite my head off. Crud now I made a bad joke. Anyway, tracking that doesn't come naturally to me, so I thought this app(bad joke and all) migh be useful to me, a (gasp) man.
I could be a real ***** and suggest that the women with a problem about the joke were premenstrual... see, I can get away with that.

It's all relative anyway: I'd be delighted to suffer from classic PMS (of the "Say it's 'just PMS' once more and I'll staple your nuts to the floor!" variety - See women are allowed to find that funny!) Personally, I do premenstrual with howling, sobbing, irrational depression.

I'd agree: this app isn't so much for women, who usually know what's going on inside. It's for men who might find it useful.

If you wanted to use it as a calculator for the rhythm method of contraception/conception, you'd want to include a lot more specific details to get the 'hot' days accurately.
