Actually, there are no countries, only a bunch of people.

I think this is a big enough problem that if we start fighting about who fights pollution first, nothing will be improved. We are lucky in that all of us can take small maybe meaningless and symbolic steps that will make us feel a bit better, and we can push for bigger steps. It is not in anyone's interest for things to continue as they have been going.
Amen. Same goes for focusing on personalities. While there may be some dissonance between Gore's walk and talk, I see that he rebutted the accusations of wasteful living (although I remain a little cynical) and at least he's pushing the agenda of energy conservation and alternatives, instead of stubbornly clinging to a tired old status quo that grows increasingly irrelevant. And while we can't live lilke there's no tomorrow, and leave our children a polluted and depleted legacy, it's rather inane to expect us to live as Luddites at this point. A little practicality and common sense goes a long, long way.

Closer to actual topic, I'm glad to see the Live Earth activities, in spite of the energy consumption that the disingenuous critics harp on. Streaming the events to mobile devices makes a lot of sense, too-- they consume less energy than their traditional "equivalents".

Sooo... anyone gotten it to work?
